Sono state annunciate le nomination ai TCA Awards, i premi della Associazione dei Critici Televisivi. Si tratta di un premio decisamente diverso dagli Emmy, che sono un premio industriale (con tutti i pro e soprattutto i contro del caso), e tendenzialmente riconoscono in maniera più chiara il talento e la qualità dell’ultimo anno in televisione. A comporre la TCA sono circa 200 giornalisti di USA e Canada che si occupano di televisione.

La competizione, tra canali broadcast, via cavo e servizi di streaming, è altissima. La HBO ha ottenuto il maggior numero di nomination (12) seguita da FX (11) e Netflix (6). The Americans, Fargo, Game of Thrones, Master of None, Better Call Saul e Making a Murderer sono le serie che hanno ottenuto più nomination. La premiazione avverrà il 6 agosto durante il TCA Summer Press Tour, ovvero gli incontri con la stampa e i talent che si tengono tradizionalmente a Los Angeles. A condurre la serata Jaime Camil di Jane the Virgin.
